A couple of weeks ago, Ginny figured out how to push herself up into a sitting position. Yay! Great job girl!! Oh, except that now, she doesn't want to lie down at all anymore. Not even when she's really really really tired. Instead, she likes to sit with her feet dangling out of the crib, slapping her palms against the rail and babbling. So stinkin' adorable! But, oh my goodness, where did my good little sleeper go?
Sometimes after a half-hour of being silly, she'll finally lie down and go to sleep. Sometimes she won't, and even going in there to calm her and rock her quietly doesn't help, and the nap just gets skipped. And then sometimes--a few times anyway--I've caught her sitting up, dead asleep, head bobbing like there's no tomorrow. Poor girl! I had heard that babies get excited by their new-found physical skills and that disrupts napping for a while, but it's been two weeks...isn't it supposed to get better? Or could she possibly be ready to drop her morning nap already? (That reminds me...she's 10 months old today! Your birthday's a comin' soon, little lady!) Anybody out there want to give some input?
PS. Look for her two cute little teeth in the third photo.
